Bruce tells us about the importance of online video when it comes to SEO, universal and organic search rankings within Google both now and in the future. Video, which he classifies as one “engagement object” is thought to be of crucial importance when it comes to website rankings within Google. As Bruce puts it in this interview:
“I think, that a year from now, we are going to be sitting here saying – ‘if you don’t have video, if you don’t have engagement objects on your website, you are just not going to rank. It will make you last among equals if you dont have it.” – Bruce Clay

True but engagement …
True but engagement factors such as video, polls, social interactivity, etc… on a website will be one of many factors that Google looks at for rankings, not just video rankings, website rankings, page rankings, etc…
Where do people …
Where do people search for video? YouTube. Not on a brand website. Guess which videos are featured most in Google? Not those on your own site, but those on a video sharing site. Reason-why is simple – there is a community behind those sites…
